AI Terms of Use

These terms govern the use of IdealCV's artificial intelligence (AI) features. They supplement our Terms of Service and Sale and our privacy policy.

1. Features covered

The AI features help you write and prepare your applications:

• generating a profile summary and bullet points describing your experience;
• rewriting existing text;
• tailoring your resume to a job offer you paste in;
• writing cover letters;
• generating interview questions;
• analysing skills gaps compared with a job offer.

These features only run when you trigger them. You can use the whole editor without ever using them.

2. Quotas

The number of AI uses depends on your plan:

Plan details are on the Pricing page. Any attempt to get around these quotas is prohibited.

3. Data sent

When you trigger an AI feature, only the text needed for the request (for example the section to rewrite or the job offer to compare) is sent to our AI model provider: [TO BE COMPLETED].

This provider may process data outside the European Union. In that case, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

To track quotas and keep the Service secure, IdealCV only records the name of the feature used and the number of tokens consumed. The content of your requests and of the responses is never recorded in these logs, which are kept for 12 months.

4. No training on your content

IdealCV does not use your content to train AI models. Contractual commitment from the model provider on this point: [TO BE COMPLETED].

5. Sensitive data

Don't enter sensitive data in the AI features or in your resumes: information about your health, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union mbrandship, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, biometric data or criminal records. Also avoid other people's personal data.

None of this is needed for a resume or a cover letter.

6. Limits of the results

AI-generated responses are suggestions. They may:

• contain errors, approximations or made-up information;
• not match your actual background;
• be poorly suited to the role, sector or country you're targeting;
• rely on generic wording.

Always review each suggestion before adding it to your documents. The ATS score and skills gap analysis are indications, not an official assessment of your application.

7. Your responsibility

You remain solely responsible for the content you keep, edit and send. In particular, you agree that your resume and cover letters accurately reflect your background: qualifications, experience, dates and skills.

You must not use the AI to:

• invent qualifications, experience or references;
• create documents in someone else's name;
• produce content that is unlawful, discriminatory, defamatory or infringes other people's rights;
• try to misuse the model or extract information it is not meant to provide.

8. No automated decision-making

IdealCV does not make any decision about you based solely on automated processing. The AI features have no effect on your account, subscription or applications, and IdealCV never passes their results on to recruiters.

9. Ownership of generated content

Text you generate with the AI and choose to keep becomes part of your content. You are free to use it for your applications. Other users may receive similar suggestions, so IdealCV does not guarantee that generated text is unique.

10. Availability and changes

The AI features depend on an external provider and may be temporarily unavailable or slower. We may change the models used, or modify or withdraw some AI features, as set out in our Terms of Service and Sale.
